How I got Band 9 in IELTS listening, twice.

I got band 9 in IELTS Listening twice and in this video I have summed up my strategies to get the perfect band 9.

The strategies that I discuss in this video are as follows:
1.Numbers: 13 vs 30.

1. Letters: How to recognise b and d and other similar sounds.
2. Date formats: Ways to correctly write a date.
3. Address/ post code: How to write postcodes of Canada, Australia and the UK.
4. Recognise subtle/small changes of information.
5. Word limit/ instructions- How to follow instructions.
6. Use the extra time to go through questions of the next section.
   8.If you aren’t sure about spelling, move on.
7. Identify map and follow directions.
8. Signposting- helps figure out the correct answer in all sections
9. Prediction: effective methods and steps.
10. Awareness of grammar
11. Synonym: How it helps to spot the write answer.
12. Write in capital letters: Why it is important.
13. If one is missed, go to the next one.
14. “Calculated guess”: How to guess and get it right.
15. Checking- Effective methods.
16. Practice once at least everyday for 10 days leading to the exam day.
17. Practice using Cambridge materials only.- why it matters.
18. You are not expected to correct 40 out of 40 questions.
