Week 2 - Materials and Mechanics

On this weeks update of my blog we are on to materials and mechanics

Materials

This week I have been looking into materials, so far i have gone through the following

Bonding

Material types

thermal properties

as a quick run down, bonding is to do with the bonds between the atoms, metals have a more uniform structure whereas polymers have a long chain of atoms

there are several different types of materials, some of which can be seen above. each material has its own properties, i will be going into this in further detail at a later date.

Thermal properties, these properties of a material are how the material deals with heat. for example metals have a high thermal conductivity. this means they absorb heat (transfer energy) faster

This was only a short post however I have a very busy week ahead. im thinking my next update will be based on maths and complex theorums.
