The Engagement League
This league is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement.
Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here - including those powering down or dealing in delegations over the past couple of weeks.
I've used some metrics (which is the fancy way of saying that made up some numbers) relating to:
- Posts (P)
- Comments - number of (C)
- Number of people spoken to (PS)
- Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (C R)
- Comments - length in characters (C L)
- Witness votes (W) (for those proxying witness votes, your total is always 30)
- Up-votes to others (V)
- Up-votes to different authors (U V)
- Self-votes - a small minus score for this one, sorry! (S V)
Note: Copy/Paste comments will be excluded (If I find them!)
Firstly, if you are placed in the table above then you among the top 25% of the league entrants!
- 371 accounts earned a score this week (367 last time)
- The top 100 produced 776 top level posts (756 last time)
- The top 100 produced 13119 comments (10438 last time)
- The top 100 produced over 2.81 million characters of text in comments (2.02 last time)
- The top 100 cast 43237 votes (32967 last time), of these, 142 were self-votes (103 last time)

I like seeing the league stats go up, especially as much as they did. And since it wasn't something that was coordinated or done for the sake of improving stats, that makes it that much cooler. People just got out and made some noise. :)
As for me, well, as discussed on the other post, I did not make it into the green. I was hoping for Top 25 but managed to miss that by a few spaces. I did manage to get my voting up, so that's okay, but I'm not sure if it's as efficient as it could be, considering nearly all of my votes are coming after the big votes have already passed through. Still need to get some kind of system up and running, or just break down and go to some kind of limited autovoting.
As always, Asher, this post, these leagues, this community you're building, are greatly appreciated.

I was surprised to see the jump in the weekly numbers, seemingly out of nowhere. Hopefully this trend continues as we move further into 2019.
High curation scores are only possible with automated votes, and I respect those that wish to read everything they decide to cast their stake upon. As you know, I have a hybrid approach, supporting many authors with a small automated vote, as it would just not be possible to do the rounds and support those I wanted to manually.

Hitting the green zone is going to depend a lot on what happens today, which isn't at all the best way to go about it. So, not recommending it at all. Much better to have more comments scattered throughout the week than it coming down to how well Saturday goes. :)
Well, one of these days, I might try my hand at autovoting. I understand why you all do it, and I've been thinking about it quite a bit lately, but just haven't convinced myself quite yet it's what I really want to do.
I do know one thing. Spreading my vote out as much as I did this last week was a lot of work, and not necessarily fulfilling. At least not as much as I thought it was going to be. You'd think after more than a year in, I'd have an idea of how best to go about this, but nope. Still flinging upvotes around without much of a strategy in place. The one I had was yanked away when Musing lost its delegation. :)

This week was a busy one for me yes, I think It may well be the last of this level though. I have an interview on Tuesday, and all being well, maybe a job to come of it. If so, I'll not be able to do 70 hours a week here :)

Well, considering the fact that it takes me half a day to make one post I think I post enough :) I've always done it this way.. I've actually never posted more than 3 times a week :)

I did a lot better this week, and judging by the weekly numbers, everyone did a lot better, Looks like it was a good week for chatting, and such, that is good. All of them up. More votes, more comments, more engagement. The lulls of the holidays may be behind us, I hope.
