RE: SteemPlus is back on Fundition

in #en6 years ago

The feed function on steem-plus has broken down yet again. It just shows a stoodkev post, bizarrely.

If it doesn't get fixed and stay fixed, I might as well remove the steemplus clutter from my google chrome. I don't use it for anything else.

Hi! It seems that Steem Sincerity, a third party we re using to categorize users between bots / humans / spammers was deprecated without any notice, causing this problem.
When a bug suddenly happens although there was no new developement on the feature, it is usally because of a third-party or a change of UI on the website.
Now I d like to remind you that we don't charge you anything for our work, so maybe you can try to be more constructive, and instead of giving us an ultimatum, write a bug report next time?

Edit : Fixed

I guess I should apologise. So, sorry.

I was frustrated with the decline of steemit, and no-one seeming to notice steem-plus's feed breaking (I recall a previous time when this happened and again no-one seemed to notice - am I the only user who uses it? Not a good sign, eh?). And being non too techy, I'm not sure what a 'bug report' should entail. Other than "it's down" of course.

Keep up the good work.

It's alright. Yes the feed+ is an underused feature in my opinion. Maybe because of the loading time.
When you got an issue you can either make a bug report on utopian or write an issue on GitHub or contact us on discord.
What do you mean by decline of steemit?

I don't really use github, utopian or discord and am hardly going to start because the feed element of steemplus has broken. And what more needs to go in a bug report other than the fact that it was down? The duration? A couple of minutes, it wouldn't have been worth reporting and the glitch minor / already fixed. A week or so (as it has been) and I mentioned it. Because it appeared no-one else had noticed / uses it / ever checks it. But the fact that I mentioned it kind of negates the likelihood that it was only a real temporary issue. Other details for the bug report? I don't do bug reports so god knows what you'd want in it or what else of any use I could put in it. It was just displaying your sponsored post (and none of the posts off the many users I follow). As I stated.

Regards the decline - I guess that's more a matter of opinion, ie. my opinion here (but I wouldn't be surprised if others share it). What makes a quality post? Again, a matter of opinion. It seems to me (and hence I don't see myself posting material much anymore), the site's full of unattractive elements. Greed, fake people, genuinely unpleasant genuine people, plagiarism, right-wingers, flag-wars, bad English (non-natives of course sometimes post in their native language also - which I can only assume makes more sense half the time to their compatriots reading it). Throw in the scourge that is bid-bots, the state of the cryptocurrency market and I think it's fair to say the site could have seen its best days. I imagine it would be great for programmers / app developers. But few others. As I say, it's a matter of opinion, isn't it? I might yet be totally wrong and the site goes onto greatness. I know I couldn't recommend the site with a clear conscience to anyone I know in the real world and will probably leave when the time is right in the not-so-distant future.

Of course, good luck to those who see the merits in the site.

If you don t use these mediums, it s fine just telling us like this in our posts.
In my opinion, the decline of Steemit doesn t mean the decline of the Steem blockchain, although lots of what you re talking about affects the ecosystem as a whole. We have a lot of awesome dApps that are emerging and have the potential to onboard lots of users. SMTs have the potential to push them and grow big, I think we re living in an interesting moment of the life of this blockchain.
