YEAR OF NIBIRU? Five shocking ways the world could END in 2018

END OF THE WORLD? We are long overdue a super volcanic eruption and a "big one" quake.
According to scores of Nibiru or Planet X believers, led by Christian fundamentalist David Meade, 2017 was the year it would make a close pass of the Earth, wiping us out.

So far, it looks like they were wrong, but what do the the Rapture revellers claim will happen in 2018?

Most "end times" prophecies are linked to fundamental Christian claims that an apocalyptical event will be caused by God, triggering the Rapture and the second coming of Christ.

Here are five ways it is predicted the world could end or millions of people could perish next year:

Some scientists even claims volcanoes are the biggest threat to human survival.

A super eruption of one of the world's mega volcanoes like Yellowstone in the USA could potentially create nuclear winter like effects, as toxic ash blocks out the sun, creating a mini ice age.

Some scientists fear a major one that could kill millions and devastate the planet is a real possibility.

We are specifically overdue a super eruption at the Yellowstone National Park, which has a lava-filled caldera measuring 34 by 45 miles (55 by 72 km), meaning it could potentially happen anytime.
And, there are few real contingency plans in place to deal with the ticking time bomb, which they conclude is likely to go off within the next 80 years.

The world's most dangerous active volcanoes include Yellowstone, Mount Vesuvius in Campagnia, Italy, and Popocatépeti near Mexico City.

In 2015 a team of scientists said if any of them or other massive volcanic peaks suffered a major eruption, millions of people would die and earth’s atmosphere would be poisoned with ash and other toxins "beyond the imagination of anything man’s activity and global warming could do over 1,000 years.

The chance of such as eruption happening at one of the major volcanoes within 80 years is put at five to ten per cent by the experts.

Another threat most scientists agree is long overdue is a major earthquake, known as a "Big One".

It is feared a devastating earthquake of magnitude eight or more and powerful enough to unleash a tsunami could strike the west coast of America if a major fault line is triggered.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) carefully monitors seismic activity in the Cascadia Subduction Zone, where there were a series of medium tremors in 2016, and two fault lines in California, including San Andreas.

Scientists say both the California fault lines and the Cascadia Subduction Zone are long overdue a major earthquake of magnitude eight or above.

In a statement after the Cascadia Rising emergency tests were carried out in 2016, a spokesman for the operation said: “Subduction zone earthquakes are said to be among the most powerful, and can exceed a nine magnitude."

Scientists at the USGS have revealed their computer modelling tests indicate the San Andreas Fault in California is capable of producing earthquakes of a maximum magnitude of 8.3.

This is still of concern as the 1906 earthquake that devastated San Francisco had a lower magnitude of 7.9.

But they have revealed the Cascadia Subduction Zone is of most concern.

It runs about 60 miles offshore along the Pacific coast from northern California to Vancouver Island, so major cities including Portland, Seattle and Vancouver are within its tsunami range, threatening millions of people and major infrastructure.

The USGS has worryingly confirmed the same computer models show it is capable of producing an earthquake with a magnitude up to 9.3, which would likely trigger huge tsunami waves.

This would be more powerful than the magnitude 9 tsunami-causing quake that hit Japan in 2011, claiming thousands of lives and taking out nuclear reactors.

Worse still, many scientists say the US is not yet prepared to deal with such a natural disaster, and it could strike at an time.
