Architecture Of Tropical Islam

in #en-us7 years ago (edited)

There are several buildings in the era of the Prophet Muhammad who became a marker of the emergence of Islamic architecture, one example is the mosque Juatha in Saudi Arabia. The Rashidun Caliphate (632-661) was the first Islamic leader to begin popularizing Islamic architecture.
The Umayyad Caliph (661-750) combines elements of the Byzantine architecture and Sassanid architecture. Umayyad architecture introduces a new form that combines western and eastern styles. [1] The shoe-shaped curler model began to appear first in the Umayyad period, then developed rapidly in Andalusia. [2] Umayyad architecture brings the use of various types of decorations, including the use of various kinds of mosaics, wall paint, statues and reliefs with Islamic motifs. [3] In the Umayyad period, a transept space was introduced which divided solat space based on the shortest axis. [4] they also added mihrab to the design of the mosque. [4] The mosque in Medina built by al-Walid I became the first mosque to have a mihrab, an additional space overlooking the qibla where the imam leads the prayer or preacher gives lectures. Mihrab now seems to be the standard of the design of a mosque around the world. [4]
Abbasiah architecture during the Abbasid Caliph (750-1513) was strongly influenced by Sassanid architecture, and architecture of central Asia. Abbasiah Mosque has a courtyard. The beginning of Abbasiah architecture can be found in the al-Mansur mosque built in Baghdad. The Great Mosque of Samarra was built by al-Mutawakkil measuring 256 by 139 meters (840 × 456 ft). The mosque has a flat roof of wood supported by pillars. The mosque has a marble and glass mosaic decoration. [5] The Samarra Mosque has a spiral tower, the only one in Iraq. [5] A mosque in Balkh or present in the territory of Afghanistan is 20 by 20 meters (66 × 66 ft), which has nine domes. [6]

some time ago I had the opportunity to design a place of worship in one village in Kuta Blang district Bireuen district, Aceh province.
As for the theme of my design this is Islamic Architecture. this theme has become a liability because that will be built later is a place of worship for the Muslims.
but apart from the Islamic architecture I also have to consider the existing climate conditions in the area and try the economic side so there is no waste of cost for the building manager later, so here I try to marry two forces in a form of tropical islam architecture.
