حبس رئيس سابق للاتحاد البرازيلي لكرة القدم

أصدرت محكمة أمريكية، اليوم الأربعاء، حكما بحبس رئيس سابق للاتحاد البرازيلي لكرة القدم لأربع سنوات، بعد أن أدين في اتهامات تتعلق بفضيحة فساد بالاتحاد الدولي للعبة (الفيفا).

وتضمن الحكم الصادر في نيويورك أيضا تغريم جوزيه ماريا مارين، رئيس الاتحاد البرازيلي سابقا، مبلغ 1.2 مليون دولار وإلزامه برد 3.34 مليون دولار.

وأدين مارين (86 عاما) في ديسمبر/ كانون الأول الماضي، من قبل هيئة محلفين أمريكية في ستة اتهامات منها الابتزاز والاحتيال وغسل الأموال.

وكان مارين في مقدمة شخصيات رياضية حوكمت في الولايات المتحدة في قضايا تتعلق بتلقي رشى وعمولات بأكثر من 200 مليون دولار فيما يخص تسويق ونيل حقوق بث مباريات لكرة القدم.

وقالت هيئة الإدعاء إن مارين تلقى عدة ملايين من الدولارات في صورة رشاوى.

A US court on Wednesday sentenced a former president of the Brazilian Football Federation to four years in prison after being convicted on charges of a corruption scandal at the International Football Federation (FIFA).

The New York judgment also included Jose Maria Marin, president of the former Brazilian federation, fined $ 1.2 million and forced him to repay $ 3.34 million.

Marin, 86, was convicted last December by a US jury of six counts of extortion, fraud and money laundering.

Marin was among the top sports figures tried in the United States on cases involving bribes and commissions of more than $ 200 million in marketing and obtaining rights to broadcast football matches.

The prosecution said Marin received several million dollars in bribes.
