"She peeked through the door as heat flushed her face, her heart thumping faster than her thoughts. This was her first day at her new school. She thought about all the taunts she had to go through at her former school because of her disability and just when she was growing a tough skin, her mom had gotten a new job in a different city. She hesitated and finally made to push the door. "Thud! " she had heard from the other side as she had quickly pushed the door to avoid changing her mind. Her gaze met a thin black boy sprawled on the floor rubbing his forehead and groaning. She stood still.... Paralyzed...
