Notes of an immigrant. Part 1
Hello, friends!
I decided to share my experience of emigration from Ukraine to Russia. Many of you know that there was a coup d'état in February 2014 in Ukraine that brought radical Ukrainian nationalists to power.
I am not going to go into all the political details of the incident with Ukraine, it probably can be safely attributed to quite a different subject of the narrative. And I will not write about the reasons that prompted me to leave Ukraine for Russia. About that I will write later.
So, I made the decision - together with my family I move to live in Russia.
Where to begin emigration.
Since 2012, Russia has had a"State programme to facilitate the voluntary resettlement of compatriots to the Russian Federation". You can read more about it on the website of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation by clicking on the link: https://мвд.рф/mvd/structure1/Glavnie_upravlenija/guvm/compatriots
There are a number of regions of Russia that participate in the State program and take migrants from other countries, providing them with Russian citizenship by an accelerated and simplified procedure.
Being on the territory of the country of permanent residence (in my case on the territory of Ukraine) you can apply to the Consulate of Russia, submit a package of documents and after 3 months to obtain a Certificate of the state program participant.
First, I chose the Kursk region as a resettlement area - it borders Ukraine, where the climate and vegetation are similar. This factor could speed up the adaptation of my family to a new location. I waited for the answer 3 months and as a result received refusal - in Kursk region there were no corresponding vacancies in my specialty. Of course I was upset, but the staff of the Consulate recommended me to choose another region of Russia and try again. Having reflected a little, having considered various emigrant forums, I came to a conclusion that the easiest way to submit documents for resettlement to the Kaluga region - the authorities of the Kaluga region give the least failures in comparison with other regions of the Central part of Russia. Indeed, 3 months later, I received a phone call from the Russian Consulate and was informed that I and my family members had received a positive response and that we had become participants in the "State programme to facilitate the voluntary resettlement of compatriots to the Russian Federation".
The list of documents required to submit an Application for participation in the State program can be found, for example, on the website of the Consular section in Kiev, the Russian Embassy in Ukraine: https://ukraine.mid.ru/web/ukraine/zaavlenie-i-spisok-dokumentov
What happened next, I will write a little later.
I will be glad if my story will be to someone useful :-)
