House music legend : Roberto Masi

Roberto Masi lives the life less ordinary. It’s a journey that had chosen him growing up in 1970s Sicily and fed on a steady diet of great music, great food and fantastic weather. It’s hardly surprising his passions naturally pulled him into the world of the DJ in a time before superstars and huge performance fees; a passion which forms the backbone of his driving force to this day.

During the 90s, Roberto worked for various record labels across Italy and formed two production groups which went on to shape dance music. Firstly came Italo-House outfit Blast, whose biggest selling track ‘Crazy Man’ topped the UK buzz charts and won an award for a million sales. A few years later, he formed Drive Red 5 which again had commercial success in his homeland and strong, global DJ support.

With 30 years of industry experience behind him, Roberto now manages his own imprint - 2 Kinky Records from his home base in Ibiza. This “new musical adventure” which began in 2015 now culminates in gigs across the island and strong industry support for the label’s releases. Roberto Masi is as much at the cutting edge now as he has always been.
