Like I said earlier on my own blog, it was epic mistake to endorse and allow third-party mining pools in too early stage. Their own pools would have been enough to limit rate of minable coins as the three official mining pools were close to being slashdotted during first two days and US pool didn't have new blocks in over 2 days.
