How To Check Your Electroneum Paper Wallet Balance (The Faster, Easier Way)

So you've been mining Electroneum for a while and you want to be sure your coins are landing in the right wallet. Since ETN was built with privacy at its heart, it's not as simple as logging onto https://blockexplorer.electroneum.com/ and searching your wallet address. And I'm guessing you've already figured that out. So how do you check your balance without jeopardizing your private spend keys

1.) You'll need 2 things. The hash of a transaction leading to your wallet (can be retrieved from your mining pool payouts or your my.electroneum.com account) and your private view key (located inside your paper wallet).

2.) Go to: http://blockexplorer.electroneum.com and paste your transaction hash in the search bar. Scroll down to where you see the "Decode Outputs" box.

3.) Input your wallet address (no spaces) and your private view key. Decode the outputs.

4.) You will see a list of outputs, most of which are irrelevant to you. Look at the column titled "Output Match" and find the transactions that are marked "true." Take the sum of all "true" outputs and that is your offline paper wallet balance.

And before you freak out that all your coins aren't there, you should know that there is often a lag with ETN mining payouts. Even after a transaction has been marked as "Confirmed" in my mining pool it can take up to 2 weeks for it to show in my wallet. Be patient. As long as you see at least one "true" output match, then your wallet address was set correctly and you'll see the rest of your coins soon. Mine on, spaceman!
