Addressing the Defecation of "Journalism" That Is Jezebel

No one outside of their writers (using the term lossely) or their cult-like readership, really takes Jezebel as serious journalism.

Normally, I would just scroll past any articles posted with no remark, but I found two that I just could not ignore. In this post, I will be addressing "Fuck Gary Johnson" and "Oh, And Fuck Jill Stein Too".

Third party votes have been largely regarded as wasted votes or so called "protest votes" and in the aftermath of the election, people were increasingly hostile towards third party voters. Asinine claims made against them would be statements such as "You voted for Trump/Clinton", "You wanted to be edgy and vote for a libertarian", etc.

No such thing happened though. A vote for a third party was not a vote for "being edgy" or a vote for the candidate you didn't like. Now I know that Jezebel was highly pro-Clinton. In fact I would be inclined to put Jezebel in the "Vagina 2016" group, using nothing but Hillary's gender as a marketing point. It was a woman vs. a "misogynist". Regardless of how you feel about Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, Jezebel was a little off base to go after third party voters. Their biggest mistake was assuming that these voters would otherwise vote for Hillary Clinton. Why would they? When the people made it clear that they wanted a third option, why would they turn to the most corrupt option of the two? When the voters wanted to get away from "establishment" politics, why would they vote for the establishment's candidate? Why would they vote for someone whose campaign has been so marred by corruption that it would make Al Capone look like a saint? I am being a tad hyperbolic, but I digress.

Now anyone who knows me knows that I voted for Governor Gary Johnson. Of course, he was not the perfect candidate. No one ever is. I disagreed with him on a business's freedom of association (though I never took to calling him Gary "Bake That Cake" Johnson) as well as other positions, but I truly believed he was the best choice for small government.

Johnson had his infamous "What is Aleppo?" gaffe, but I was willing to look past it. I supported Gary because he felt like a real person, not some corporate silver-spooner who I couldn't relate to. We were shown a candidate that is simply human and admits that he might not know all of the answers.

I never thought I would white knight for Jill Stein, but here I am going to be. What has me really curious is where was Madeline Albright, telling women they would go to Hell for not helping out another woman when Carly Fiorina was running or even for Jill Stein in the general election? What was even more surprising was that the King of the Social Justice Warriors, Bernie Sanders, did not endorse Stein. Instead, he chose to endorse the candidate that rigged the primaries against him. Social Justice Warriors who talk about how white men have virtually no problems and they always game the system, were virtually silent while rich white people stole this election.

But there is one quote from Kara Brown's article from "Oh And Fuck Jill Stein Too" that sticks out to me:

I’m guessing MLK would not be thrilled with you right now, Jill! He’d probably wonder why you didn’t rally your supporters to vote for Hillary Clinton so, I don’t know, maybe we could avoid Donald Trump unraveling eight years of Obama gains and appointing two Supreme Court justices. I DON’T THINK HE’D FIND YOUR FUCKING MEME VERY HELPFUL.

There is a bit to unpack here, but I will as concise and cogent as I can. Firstly, what makes you qualified to determine what MLK was thinking. Maybe he would be advocating for the party that had a woman AND a minority on the ticket. Can you tell me which party that was?......It was the Green Party. But I am no more qualified to say who MLK would have endorsed than you are. Also, who said Hillary Clinton was an equality candidate? Sure she believes in equality for American women, but clearly she doesn't believe in equality for women around the world given the fact that she took money from the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia. And yeah sure, maybe President Obama did some good things for some people, but I think the people in seven countries that he has bombed. Seven. In addition to that, President Obama signed into law a part of the NDAA that allows people to be detained for no reason and without any due process.

Also nice typing in all caps to show your outrage.

I don't believe Jill Stein came from a bad place in her policies, but the system has been rigged against third parties ever since Ross Perot. That is just an unfortunate truth. But why demonize people for voting differently from you?

Bottom line: Jezebel's "reporting":
