A Trump Presidency is the Steep Price of Deliberately Alienating White Males
A lot went through my head upon learning that Donald J. Trump is to be the next president of the United States. I tried to take my VR headset off a few times before realizing it was on the desk next to me. I googled to see if it was some sort of reality TV prank. I am still sort of dumbfounded that this happened.
But the more I thought about it, the more it began to make sense. I don't know if it was simply hindsight being 20/20, the mind constructing a narrative after the fact to make sense of the world. You'll be the judge of that.
Obviously, the biggest factor was the DNC's blackmailing and sabotage of Bernie Sanders' campaign. A lot of people rightly felt betrayed and refused to vote for Hillary because she was not the peoples' choice, but the establishment's choice being foisted on us.
There was also a great deal going on culturally in the run up to this election, however, which alienated white male voters. The Social Justice movement had grown sufficiently large and bold that it felt safe making some pretty reprehensible statements.
Googling Kill White Men will turn up page after page of results. #Killallmen was an extremely popular hashtag for a while. Tumblr is replete with celebrations of white, male genocide as a concept, with utopia as the anticipated result.
Subreddit Tumblr In Action contains no shortage of documented instances in which Social Justice Warriors proposed the extermination of all white people, all men, or all white men, depending which subset they were most angry with at the moment.
Feeling emboldened by Barack Obama's reelection, as if the DNC would hold power forever, they really let the ugly out. Really unloaded and showed the world their true colors, secure in their belief that no white man or conservative would ever again hold the office of President of the United States, and that the future belonged to Social Justice.
So secure in this imagined future were they, that when men objected to being threatened with murder, the response was mockery. To drink their tears, to make them out as whiners pretending to be oppressed rather than ordinary people who understandably do not approve of proposals that they be exterminated.
Complaints through official channels against, for example, a college "diversity officer" who tweeted "kill all white men" fell on deaf ears. The diversity officer kept her post, affirming that the academic establishment was behind her, and onboard with the Social Justice movement no matter how obscene its rhetoric might become.
Not only was academia complicit, but most media outlets as well. When a Republican congressman asked for clarification on the type of rape being discussed, it was misrepresented as denial that rape is real. Meanwhile Social Justice Warriors on Tumblr define rape as everything from kissing someone, to cheating, to catcalling.
Googling "male tears" will likewise return a litany of insulting images which mock male pain and alienation. A foolish and arrogant direction to go in which makes sense only if one assumes it is guaranteed that the future is dominated by Social Justice ideology, and we've just not gotten there yet.
The foot soldiers of this obnoxious, hurtful movement were put up to it by their professors of sociology, women's studies and other subsets of critical theory. They were thoroughly led to believe that their victory was guaranteed.
Believing without question that they represent all that is good, pure and decent in the world and that their enemies (principally white males who identify with the gender they were assigned at birth) are inhuman monsters who exist only to be destroyed. In their minds, they'd already won, so they behaved accordingly.
Well, now the chickens have come home to roost. A Trump presidency is the consequence of carelessly shitting from a great height upon every white man regardless of the contents of his heart or how he votes, simply because of his ethnicity and gender.
A great many men whose values align at least somewhat with various causes of the Social Justice movement were pushed away in this fashion, and undoubtedly some of them fled right into the eager, open arms of the alt right.
"What does it matter if we upset some white men here and there? They have it coming anyway, and it's not like we need their support. We're on the right side of history, so we can't possibly lose" must've been more or less how their reasoning went. Indifferent alienation of potential supporters under the arrogant assumption that the history of their triumph has already been written.
If you cannot physically destroy your opponents, humiliating them as intensely as possible under the assumption that it will break their spirit (rather than motivate them more fiercely than ever to get out and vote for whoever they think will retaliate most effectively) is a poor strategy indeed. This is why in antiquity, young males from a conquered people were slain, lest they seek revenge as adults.
We have all reaped what the Social Justice movement has sown. A Trump presidency, validating every international stereotype of America as a country and the people residing therein.
Those who professed to be advocates of gentleness employed such astonishing cruelty in pursuit of their goals, they should hardly be surprised when the outcome was that cruelty won out over gentleness at the polls. When you put cruelty into the world, it only produces more.
Alternatively, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that".
This is part of the problem, I agree with that, but the problem is much bigger. Inequality culturally and economically in all ways imaginable. This is not an American problem, but a problem of the whole western world. In Scandinavia especially Denmark has battled with this for 15-20 years (always the progressive avantgarde together with Holland... both up and down). How can you say white trash and not realise that it is pure racism and hate of the lower classes? Most of these women are upperclass (simply attending a university makes you that) and sadly they do not realise that all humans are equally capable of being bigot assholes, and that that include themselves.

You are correct. Of course, it's much more complicated than that. It's not EXACTLY white males who are the ones feeling so alienated. And the extremist social justice movement is a minority that rarely touches older white men (and old people are the ones who handed Trump this election), but it is an extension of broader movements like modern-day feminism, classism, elitism, etc. As Louis CK put it, "'I saw this guy the other day, he was white trash--' 'Oh, fuck that guy!'" Your article is a microcosm of what Glenn Greenwald (you'll remember he was the journalist Edward Snowden chose to release his NSA information to) discusses at length here, and you will see echoes of your words in it: https://theintercept.com/2016/11/09/democrats-trump-and-the-ongoing-dangerous-refusal-to-learn-the-lesson-of-brexit/
As you sow, so shall you reap.
Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.
We remember.
Have you considered the possibility that some of the driving force behind these SJWs may be government itself? Could some of them be shills?
I don't know anything you don't. Our government has also been over the top conservative before though, so I imagine they cultivate whatever trends ultimately incline the public towards placing their trust in government and supporting expansion of its powers.
Being from Latin America I know the US gov is very good at infiltrating groups and turning the best of them into extremism machines, destabilizing from the inside. Much of this PC/SJ movement is rooted on the internet, where anyone can say whatever they want about themselves and others.
Let me give you an example. I was transitioning before people even knew what trans was, we were just a small group of people getting organized on the internet to get better health care because so many of us were dying over treating ourselves without medical supervision. In a very short period of time I started noticing an influx of people preaching ideology. At first very subtly and innocently, very choice leaning, then very aggresively and authoritarian. It ended up being to where all the admins from these online groups would call themselves feminists and started banning trans people from all over the world from these groups because they wouldn't play along with their terminology or methods.
If they would question words like cisgender, privilege, power, ect. bullying was encouraged and they would ultimately get isolated from the few places that would explicitly welcome them. A lot of people decided to stay quiet and not voice their opinion for fear of losing access to the little information available on the subject.
I don't believe in voting because we don't vote on blockchains, the winner is simply the one announced to be the winner, you and I don't get to see the actual votes. I really thought Hillary would be appointed because of all the support the US gov has given to this rich white male witchhunt, now I am starting to think the real leaders of the country gave up on it all together and have gone on blame mode, letting Donald take the fall, and creating yet more division by giving the people a rich white male to call devil.
You kow. People put down tge alt right but i rarely see any actual facts served up by people "towing the party line" for "mainstream" outlets. Anyone saying the alt-right is dangerous really is not paying attention to them. I rarely hear a complaint they have that is not grounded in fact. Sad but true...

Excellent analysis. My question is, where do you see the radical elements of the SJW/Feminist movements going from here, after the Brexit and Trump victories? Do you think they'll reevaluate and readjust their methods or do you think they'll double down and continue with the same rhetoric they've been using, except stronger?
If they do double down, I think the alt right/ethno nationalist movements in the U.S. and Europe will continue to grow stronger as well and the polarization will get even more extreme.
