Most Muslims in Morocco celebrate, today, Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, called “Aid el Mawlid” or “Mouloud”. The birthday of Muhammad is ascertained on the Twelfth day of the third month of the Muslim year.

In Morocco, the birthday of the Great Prophet may be a time of family reunions. Families gather to feast, fellowship, and recite poems or sing songs regarding Muhammad’s life. there will even be special events in several cities that target the happenings of Muhammad’s life consistent with the Quran and Hadiths.

The festivities differ by region from what we wear to what special dishes we serve.
