Hello, I am from Egypt and sorry to hear that this happened to you. A lot of scams happen around touristic sites. So i would agree to always book your tours from the hotel you are staying at or travel agency :)

Oh, please understand, that was my second day in Egypt of a 3 month trip. It ended up being a wonderful time. In fact, I will be going back this year....
