"Sacrifice in Education = Good Future"

There are some people who don't get a chance to study
The expenses cost an arm and a leg
They say it was because they were poverty-stricken
Wealth was insufficient
Good Fortune has turned its back on them

Impoverished social standing is not a a handicap
To be able to carry forward your studies
Persevere, Find a way
Nothing is arduous if you persist
There is nothing easy in this world
You must work hard for everything.

That's how I was, 15 years back
I played for the varsity team
I studied and worked at the same time
I vied and labored daily
In order to pursue my studies
And for me to support my school allowance
I pledged myself to my education. I am thankful for this golden chance
For the likes of me who are financially unstable
Was given an opportunity to study.

Every day, I held the ball and the broom
I cleaned all kinds of mess
Various crummy fragments people left behind
This was my daily company.

I enter the restrooms not to pee
But to get rid of these rooms from it
I clean all the excrement
Remove all the putrid smells and pesky clogs
It's rancid - I know
But I endured
I endured to pursue my studies.

In my hand I hold a rug
To wipe clean all the tables my schoolmates ate from
I don't care if they stare
I know it is me they are talking about and I don't mind.
They say I'm too young to work.
That is how short I am financially.
I just scrape by.
But, no matter how lowborn they see me
I shall leave no stone unturned for my family.

In my hand I hold the books.
As I dust away the library
I feast myself with the knowledge each doctrine had
One line left a mark, each word I so clearly remember
"Education is the key to success"
It made me ponder
I shall not give up
I shall not stop
My will shall not waver
I need to finish my studies
I need to succeed for me to have a better and brighter life.

It is not difficult to study.
It's not rigid to play with the team nor work.
The only thing is, you lose time for yourself.
Spending time with friends and going out are close to impossible.
You train in the morning then attend class,
Your class is then followed by your work.
After a whole day, all your body searches for is rest.
There are even times that you can't contribute to group works.
Main reason is because your work isn't done yet.
We all have to make sacrifices.Big and Small.
All these will be worth it. All these for our future.

In the near future, all these hard work will bear fruit
We shall harvest what we planted.
Then we can finally say, "I did it!"
All my sacrifices
Everything that I endured.
And hear I am now. At the peak of my life.
Facing the horizon of my success.
