The Art Of Principles

in #education7 years ago

Questioning everything is a way of life. To find the fundamental truth on what are the decisions, ideologies built on may become never ending adventure. Asking why on everything may or may not lead to the foundation. It may become a cycle that never ends. But that is not always the case. Sometimes once mind is built on principle or set of principles.

"A fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning." Isn't it interesting why do we need principles?! As i already mentioned, questioning everything is a way of life, but how long can it go on? Will the vicious cycle of asking question "why" ever end? I think there is answer to that, but i am not saying that it is the ultimate truth. This is nothing more than a speculation.

What if every individual on this planet starting being skeptical on everything? Will once mind be at peace in this constant pursuit of truth? So it may be a way of getting rid of worrying. It may also be a different case. What if the answer you found was not what you were expecting and it's actually devastating for you? There is a danger of not getting the results you wanted. Well it also may be called ignorance and as they say "ignorance is a bliss."

Having principles may also mean that swaying will be minimal. If a decision is not compatible with existing principle one may have, he or she will not make that decision. One can judge what is The "right way" without thinking to much about it. So principles may also become guides.

A lot of ideologies are built on principles. Let's take liberalism for example. The fundamental principle that it is built on is that every human is born free. But let's ask the question why. Why is every human born free? What if i say some humans are born to serve or something like that? Who is here to judge which one of this is right? That is a principle. You can't question it or if you do, you still may not find the truth.

There is one ideology that says that it is not built on principle and it is called skepticism. Skepticism says questioning everything is the right way, but here's a catch. Why does one have to question everything? Is it not the statement itself a principle?

Understanding principles is a difficult task. All in all, every statement that i made right now may also be based on set of principles. Principles may be every individual's guidelines and without them, what the world would look like is difficult to imagine.
