Did you know EMI awards stands for 'Electrical and Musical Instruments'

The acronym EMI actually doesn't stand for "Electrical and Musical Instruments" though it's an interesting guess! EMI originally stood for Electric and Musical Industries.

The EMI Group was a British record label conglomerate that existed until 2012. While they dealt with music, they weren't directly involved in manufacturing instruments themselves.
