Ramkrishna Paramahansa lived in this small hut in Kamarpukur village (center). The family building on the left, on the right is the birthplace of the right, which at present is the Temple of Lord Ramakrishna.

Ramkrishna Paramahamsa was born in 1836 in the village of Kamarpukur, in Arambagh subdivision of Hooghly district of West Bengal, in a poor religious conservative Brahmin family. He is the fourth and last child of his father, Khudiram Chatterjee and mother Chandanbari Devi. It is said that before the birth of Ramakrishna, several miracles occurred in front of his parents. Child Goddess Chandravali saw that a light emanating from Shibling entered her womb. Immediately before his birth, he visited the pilgrimage in Guaya and appealed to Kshudiram Gadadhara Vishnu in a dream. That is why he named the newborn Gadadhar.

Gadadhar, known as Gadi, was very dear to his villagers in his childhood. He had charisma in drawing and clay figures. Although he was not meditating on formal education. At that time, he lauded the Sanskrit teaching of Brahman Samaj, "Rakala-tied Vidya" (that is, the provision of earning education for the priest) and refused to accept it. Although he was indifferent to the teaching system of the Pathsala, he did not have any interest in learning new things. He achieved extraordinary competence on the journey of music, narrative and religious legends. At the very young age of the pilgrims, monks and village mythologists Gadadhar achieved the etiquette of Puranas, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagbat. His letters in Bengali mother tongue

From the memories of Ramakrishna, it is known that from the age of six-seven years, he would have had spiritual affection. Once on a paddy field, he was unaware of the splendid beauty of white ball in black clouds in the sky. Later on, he explained his condition as an inexplicable joy.During his childhood, he had a similar feeling of affection - once during the worship of Goddess Vishalakshi, Shiva's character was once again on a journey to Shivratri. From the age of ten to twelve years, this feeling of thinking becomes his casual affair.

In 1843, his elder brother Ramkumar took charge of his family. This incident deeply influenced Gadadhar. His desire for religious life is strong in his mind. The lack of father brings him closer to his mother; He spent more time in the worship of the house and the house god; Religious epics are read in self-interest.

When Gadadhar was a teenager, financial difficulties arose in his family. Ramkumar opened a Sanskrit Toll in Calcutta and took the priestly scholarship. In 1852, Gadadhar entered Calcutta in order to assist Dada in the priesthood.
