THE INEVITABLE SACRIFICES FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Life itself is established on the basis of sacrifice, this is what makes it meaningful. below are some of the basic sacrifice we must make if one is desirous of making a difference in academic pursuit

• Decision: you must first of all see the good or the worthwhileness of what you want to venture into before you can, as you cannot make any meaningful decision in the atmosphere of unclear picture of what you want. what kind of decisions do you need to make?
  sleep: you must decide to be awake while others are asleep
  money:you must decide to invest your money in memory boosting programmes like workshops, seminars, symposia, books & other related materials
  you must be willing to deny yourself certain kinds of food sometimes to enable you to be light in order to do usual things in unusual ways
  time: you must decide to have full contol of your time because time is an integral part of life.
  Energy: you must decide to make use of your God given strenght now that you are still young as there'll be a time when such strenght will no more be there as it were.
• Determination: untill you make up your mind to achieve academic excellence, it may never come. never lose sight of what you want. when you are determined, the pain and challenges that are associated with it will mean nothing to you.
• Discipline: taking the pain to see that what you want is achieved at all possible cost.
• Dedication: dedication is in the line of our thought, means making what you want so as to keep standing without regrete or complaint whatever.
• Deligence: deligence is the meaningful glasses that help us maintain consistency, regular tempo as regards what we want. as consistence or constant practice is the mother of perfection.
  CONCLUSION
  I will like to conclude by by saying academic excellence is desirable by all, but not everyone is willing, ready or able to pay the sacrifice for it.
  According to Nnamdi Azikiwe, a famous nationalist 'there is plenty of room at the top becuase very few people care to travel beyond average root. and so most of us seem to be satisfied to remain within the confines of mediocrity
