Is a form of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one's own and others' feeling and emotions and to use this information to guide one's thinking and actions

Differences between EQ and IQ - EQ: it develops an understanding to manage emotions while IQ develops the cognitive abilities: more academic oriented
- EQ: promotes positive relationship while IQ enables development of technical skills
- EQ: increases self- motivation and drive while IQ enables conceptual thinking
