Literacy Mission

It's been quite a while we have been travelling to narrow dowry lanes of those pictured villages , seeing those sparks in the eyes many, who are thought to be our tomorrow! But then, won't our tomorrow be weaker than ever, without our pillars being strong?

It was these thought of ours for our tomorrow that made us alive with Literacy Mission 10 Thousand (LM10k) . May the number be large, but never larger than our will power and soul dream of establishing a bridge with the best pillars from misery to hope

And then rose the most strong yet common question! Where from we get the funds? But again our will power was strong enough to knock down questions. We started saving our pocket money's, probably money we earned winning debates and quizzes and by some sort of seminars

Now , hardly we have over passed our teens , but will proudly stand to say that we have provided literacy kits to more than 6000 kids.

A mission which Rotary started , We followed . A mission which Rotary started to educate unprivileged ignited minds for our strong tomorrow, we added more fire to it with LM10k bringing it to social media and having a great boost .

The literacy profile of India has greatly changed since independence . as in the case in many developing countries while the percentage of illiterates continued to decline ,the actual numbers shows a rising trend , The challenge of eradicating illiteracy from India is indeed gigantic . India is one of the nine giants in the world in terms of a mammoth population of illiterates with high incidence of illiteracy among females .The main cause of poverty is illiteracy .
As we know that the literacy is the basic requirement of economic development. The literacy of India has reached around 99% in countries like Japan, USA ,UK , Germany , France , South Korea etc…but in India literacy is still hovering around 76% all efforts and success in literacy have become obliterated by huge rise in population , illiteracy deprives people not only of economic development but also of all benefits of education,reading,writing etc remaining within the darkness of ignorance ,poverty and impoverishes
Students are the builders of a Nation they play a vital role in shaping Nation ,they can do a lot to eradicate illiteracy ,they can spend their spare time and holidays in helping illiterate people to become literate , A blind person cannot witness the captivating beauty of Nature .similarly an illiterate person remains blindfolded to the charms of the world of learning and knowledge ..If and when illiteracy will be removed completely India will be a new country where 100% people can participate in all programs of economic development , and literally I believe that if we all youth join hands together to eradicate illiteracy from India ,we will be succeed in our Literacy mission because Youth can move the world....
