Mobile learning in the online environment

in #education7 years ago (edited)

Because of the recent increase of various types of mobile devices, opportunities in the teaching environments are expanding with the speed of lightning.  Mobile learning apps are on the increase too to accommodate today's digital students.  When students get the opportunity to interact with these apps, learning takes place faster and more efficiently as it prevents them from being passive and inactive.

By incorporating digital learning into the various area of the curriculum, students will get the opportunity to make the learning experience their own and to learn in his or her own, unique way.

Let's take for example a student getting the opportunity to use applications for a project.  Chances are, he or she will enjoy doing research on the subject because he or she can make it more interesting by making a presentation out of it, using presentation software (like Powerpoint for example). When given the chance to make it as interesting as possible, experiencing it and seeing the end results there-of, it may even help to boost confidence and self-esteem as opposed to making a poster and having only enough space to fit in certain points.  It not only builds skills, but it also prepares them for life in the working environment.  Many children may be shy to stand in front of a classroom, so when making a presentation, the focus turns to the presentation and not to the child.

glad to read your article, this is great.
I am a teacher and I have some experience in using the app that you suggested, evernote and grammar up in particular. In my class where I am teaching I always promote the digital learning model. The term that I used to explain this model of learning is "digital age learning.
However, I also posted an article about " Becoming a teacher in digital age" . I am very glad if you want to read it

Learning is limitless when we use the right technology and applying it correctly.

Definitely!
