What am I?

I have rhythm and I'm an art
and in life I play a big part
I touch your soul, I touch your heart
I make you think, I make you cry
I make you happy, it's no lie
I dwell with birds in trees and sky
I don't know how I came about
I live with you inside and out
I took the earth, it was a rout
I'm at funerals and at birthdays
I'm slow, I'm fast, there's many ways
I'm on my own, I go with plays
I've been with nature all my life
as blunt as spoon as sharp as knife
I come with peace, I come with strife
I make a girl fall for a guy
And make the world wonder why
I come your way but won't pass by
