I love this. The research is fascinating! It's interesting to me people would call those matriarchal. I see them as more like matrilocal or matrilineal, but matriarchal seems a stretch. The whole thing of the bride to be's family capturing the groom to be is so incredibly wild!! I agree with your interpretation of what a matriarchal society would ideally look like. It's amazing to me that so many of us came to the same conclusions.
