RE: Plant Expedition Success: We Found North America’s Caffeine Plant in the Wild

in #ecotrain7 years ago

Very enriching read, sounds like a much better alternative to coffee. Its natural occurring habitat is rather small though and I cannot find any information regarding cultivation in my habitat. We do have a reasonably long, semi-arid growing season with sandy loam soil which it apparently enjoys. I'm more curious how it will handle a harsh winter of being buried under 3-4 feet of snow. The blood circulation and better breathing with less physical stimulus sounds excellent. I'm curious, does it make you poop like coffee does?
Thanks for sharing! (SMOKEBOMB!)

So happy you were enriched. There Is precious little info on cultivation i couldn't find. Part of our mission to create the data and get it more popularized. Gotta say I like the taste of coffee but WAY preferhas mate make sure me feel. It does also have mild diuretic effect as coffee does, most likely enciourgaing bowel movement.

Still dying the leave so haven't not drunk it yet. What climate somebody are you? I seemto remember a man growing it on Vancouver island. I'd be far it could spread if it was planted all over!
