Latvian National Museum of Art
In Riga, Latvia. The National Museum of Art is a beautiful building in immaculate condition, inside especially, with gold leaf gleaming against white marble and extraordinary plaster work.
It is quite easy to see the entirety of the permanent exhibits there in an hour. And today, the last Sunday of July 2017, it was free entry.
Of the many fine paintings in the two floors of permanent exhibit, these stood out to me.
And this one I photographed as best i could without the frame in view, because it felt like being transported to a very magical place on Earth.

There were also a few sculptures. These two I felt captured emotions and thoughts beautifully.
Ps - I mentioned "permanent exhibit" because, at the entrance when I tried to pay, the attendant informed me it was free entry. Only later when i descended into the basement where the new exhibitions were, another attendant informed me that though the permanent exhibitions were free, that level was €3.50. I have been limping a bit from a knee injury, so decided not to go back upstairs to get a ticket. But, the museum is well worth visiting, regardless, if you enjoy art and arcitecture.
Peace and blessings,
Jon
