RE: All About Solar Power At Earthship Karuna

in #ecotrain7 years ago

Dude its amazing that you can run all of these appliances on solar power, just beautiful! I see you mentioning $600 for the panels, you are not including the inverter in this, I suppose?

And do you have any backup from a main cable anywhere, of its just you and you :D

Where I used to live in Holland a lot of people would have solar panels and the investment would back back after about 7 years in general. What a good thing was there is that overproduction could be given back to 'the net'. I found it a good solution for the households there.

I live on a Caribbean island now with sun everywhere and all day and strong as f*ck and our government is disencouraging using solar energy which annoys me to the bone.
Also after experiencing a major hurricane last year and living without electricity for 45 days makes you wonder, 'damn if I would just have had some of those panels' (removed before the hurricane ofcourse)

Love the house bro!

hey , thanks! yes it is amazing how much we can run from solar!
That price indeed was just for panels.. The invertor can be as cheap at 100 USD or as much as $1000 depending on choice and total power demand.

I have a generator as a backup, that is plugged into a battery charger unit.. I rarely use it.. but in winter im free to use the washing machine, blenders etc

sorry to hear the government are discouraging solar! SUrely you can still just buy one and install it.. its not illegal over there is it? i guess its all money related, as always!

thanks for the comment!
