I am deeply sadden that the people in our government have allowed and is allowing the WSB (western central bankers) to completely destroy our country and economy in the name of greed.
While some of the Technocratic philosophies are on the money for instance that Politicians should not be managing the financial affairs of the country they themselves have a very dark agenda.
Being prepared and as independent as possible has been your constant drum beat and its is the only way to survive.
Lynette reminds us that "community" is important though you have often mentioned it in the past also, she is correct this will be a vital asset because tight knit communities can bring protection. Looking out for each other during the time of economic crisis will be essential.
I would like to add a strong belief system to the list my choice is God because desperation will take people to untold levels.
Unfortunately many of us have allowed God to be removed from our way of life which ultimately will leave us with nothing bigger than the material things is this life to turn to when the darkest hours strike.
Being protected and having your physical needs met are very important but we may see and hear things that we have never saw before during this period so having God can assist us against the natural mental break downs.

No, fiat currencies are backed by debt and are increased annually by government edict. Some blockchains such Bitcoin and Ethereum are indeed open ledger systems and can be traced but have a basic to absolute limit of coin increases. Others such as Cloak, Zcash and shortly Ethereum (adopting zkSNARKs technology in the upcoming Metropolis release) can be done in secrecy.
Pretty much sums it all up, they can outlaw anything, and no matter how much you prepare, it's only a matter of time before your short supply will run out, some will make it days and some months but we are headed to a world event that has never been seen and I don't believe there is any way to really prepare for it long term.

When a whole area is devastated by an act of war or terror, the best survival asset will really be food, fuel, water, shelter and guns and ammo.
We all hold some of each and hope to profit from the currency wars, but like you said, if they outlaw gold silver and crypto, which is all about what a person actually finds value in it. Money won't mean a thing, only people joining together and creating a plan now may have a chance for a long term survival rate, and that's working as a community everyone working, everyone ready to fight off intruders.
Yeah I believe things are going to get really rough soon.
Hi Dave I've been a listener on podcast and Youtube. Glad you are on Steemit. I am getting away from YouTube as much as possible. Too many accounts of great producers are disappearing. Political correctness gone mad.
People are using credit and borrowing into huge debt, but even that doesn't provide enough revenue for stores to stay open, and then again without stores, no jobs and without jobs, no money to buy products, stocks free fall for all these companies, there is no more pensions, so the elder cannot buy nor afford, the monopoly such as amazon and Walmart are the super store wars to monopolize the whole system, but then what and who will be able to buy anything?
We all have been stacking silver and gold, and now crypto, but just where will this real wealth go or will they outlaw all three? Which will bring about a black market and outlaws of people trying to survive.
But I'm going to say that I personally believe you can make a lot of money with bitcoins and alt coins, but trade it and diversify some into silver and gold.
One thing I don't agree with is crypto can be taken offline and traded directly between people if they look at it as a source of wealth, sure you go through an exchange to buy it but people are sending it to each other and buying products, services and goods for crypto from each other and I don't believe they can confiscate all that money traded and taken off the exchanges.
All three have value, but only in a situation we don't go into a chaotic situation such as war which we are looking in the face daily with so many countries ready to attack each other.
