What is the Biggest Threat to Your Country (2017)

The terrorist menace posed by ISIS and global climate change are the issues most people are concerned about in many countries around the world, a report by Pew Research Center found. While people in European countries, the U.S. or Russia perceive ISIS as the biggest risk, people in Africa and Latin America mostly fear the effects of climate change.
The Japanese on the other hand are very concerned about cyberattacks. Inhabitants of other countries, such as South Korea or Turkey, fear the influence of major powers the most, e.g. China or the U.S. In fact, concerns on increased U.S. influence have risen worldwide since the election of Donald Trump.

Other perceived threats remained similarly worrisome to most people, compared to the results of the last global threat assessment. 41,953 people in 38 countries were asked to give their opinions on eight possible threats. The survey was conducted from February 16 to May 8, 2017.
