Sermon On The Mount
I went to church today, after a very, very long time. It's just as well, I didn't understand 99.99% of what was preached, sang or read as it was all in Polish. The church is actually in the Czech Republic, but since the town is on the border with Poland, there is a sizeable number of Polish members of the congregation.
Like most people in this town, the priest speaks Czech and Polish fluently - but he's also well versed in German, English and Russian. Also throw in a bit of Latin, Greek and Hebrew as required for career as both a theologian and a priest. These learned men of the cloth are always so impressive linguistically.
The church itself is on a hill, so it can be seen from everywhere in the town. Getting there for most people is by foot, but some also cycle or drive. It was unusually packed today apparently - being Easter Sunday.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the reason the sermon was in Polish today was because the church alternates between Polish and Czech week by week for the benefit of the members that are not bilingual. Isn't that awesome? The only words I could make out were; Hallelujah, Shalom, Jezus and Amen :). The only other words I know in Polish are curse words.
Anyhow, the walk back from the mountain church is quite a scenic one, and on such a beautifully sunny day as today, was even more special.

I have no doubt your island looked spectacular in the good weather.
It really does. This is the brief part of the year when we can enjoy being outdoors without the midges. It lasts for about two weeks. I had a superb dog walk in the forestry in the late afternoon and was inspired to talk into my device. It was a lovely walk.
Ha ... ha ... you should learn a lot of languages, friend. So you will know all the languages spoken by the priest. Have a nice day, my friend.

There's no point in going to a Catholic Church. We're saved by faith alone in Christ alone guided by the Bible alone. We're not saved by infant baptism, good works, and obedience to the man made rules of the church.
The pope has no authority whatsoever from God. Mary is not our mother. We shouldn't pray to her or to any of the saints.
