In June, five planets align in the sky. Here's how to look at it.
This week, five planets are moving into a rare alignment that will be visible from Earth. For the first time since December 2004, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are aligning in that order. The phenomenon will be most visible to stargazers on Friday, June 24.

A conjunction of three planets close together is common, but seeing five is unusual, according to Sky & Telescope.
Beginning on June 3 and 4, the five so-called "naked-eye" planets were visible, and the lineup could be seen with binoculars — but only for about half an hour, before Mercury was lost in the glare of the sun.
