EarnBet: Evolving the EOSBet Brand
We're Changing our Name!
When we conceived of EOSBet in early 2018, our vision was to utilise the powerful EOSIO blockchain to build a decentralised, provably fair gaming platform where players were generously rewarded for their engagement.
And we’ve done just that. In the past year, we’ve built several fully on-chain games, become the only EOS platform to receive a gaming license, and distributed over $4,000,000 in dividends to our BET token holders. We’ve built a vibrant community of thousands of players around the world, with over 17,000 unique EOS accounts holding BET tokens.
As we continue to grow and reach outside of the EOS community, we want our name and brand to resonate with a larger audience. That’s why today we’re excited to announce that we’ll be updating our name from EOSBet to EarnBet!
Our goal is to expand outside of the cryptocurrency community and reach mainstream adoption. It’s no surprise that EOS is not especially well-known outside of the crypto-sphere.
Even within the crypto community, despite being the most high-performance and developer-friendly chain, EOS remains susceptible to the same type of token tribalism that affects all blockchain projects.
Over time, we’ve worked to take advantage of the most revolutionary parts of blockchain technology like immutability, transparency, and tokenisation, while removing traditional barriers to adoption like slowness, confusing account creation, and resource management. We provide all the benefits of blockchain technology without any of the hassle, largely in part to our simple, fully decentralised account system.
The latest step in that progression is our transition from EOSBet to EarnBet.
Why EarnBet?
Our team has been talking about changing our name for awhile now, but have been hesitant. EOSBet had built a large amount of brand capital. We performed well on search rankings and were known by almost everyone in the EOS community, and many within the crypto space.
So first, we needed a new name that would remain familiar to those who already knew us.
EarnBet is an easy update from EOSBet given their phonetic similarities. This also made for a simple logo update, where we’ve retained our familiar font and color scheme.
Secondly, we needed a name that would appeal to typical bettors outside of EOS and allude to our profit sharing mechanism. EarnBet is simple and alluring. Earn by winning and earn by receiving BET tokens, which pay dividends for life.
What's Next
Over the next two weeks we’ll update our name and logo across all platforms, and release PR announcement across the world. The marketing team will be overseeing a more focused approach towards the communities of the other coins we accept, including BTC, BCH, LTC and ETH. We will also begin hosting our announcement blog on directly on the site instead of on Steemit.
You can still expect the fun, decentralised gaming experiences you’ve grown accustomed to. Regardless of our name, we will always remain committed towards a fairer, more equitable decentralised economy.
