First is the compact learning of all the necessary skills and the frequency of repeating each skill hundreds of times daily to perfection. She was made to hit thousands of balls regularly to ingrain each skill into her endowment.

Correction and coaching during play follow whenever she practices and competes. Confidence grows when you become good at each stroke and a good mindset is established.

Sharing my journey to become a good basketball player.
I came from a big disadvantaged family and I remember my first day at school (age 7), my interest in basketball was kindled when I saw my elder brother playing the game at school before the bell rang.
I started dribbling and shooting the ball whenever I had the opportunity. My PE teacher was a good basketball player and he started training A GROUP OF SMALL KIDS all the basic skills to play the game. I was one of the kids chosen and I went on to represent the school team.

When I continued my secondary school in Penang, I was boarding with my eldest sister who is married to a Penang businessman. There was a basketball court behind my sister's house and I played the game regularly. I went on to represent Penang State and the national team.

How to apply the Four Steps Mastery formula for your kids to become a good player?

Parents play a critical role in encouraging your kids to be physically fit and healthy. Playing a game like basketball or tennis well will encourage your kids to play the game as long as possible. Playing tennis can be a life long process to keep healthy and fit. Once your kid plays the game well, he is always encouraged to continue playing the game.
Knowing the Four Steps Mastery formula is important for any kid to be a good player not a champion.

What are the elements of the Four Steps Mastery formula?

Knowledge of the game and its skills is only one of the elements of the Mastery formula.

First Step:

For your kids to master a game well, the first step they need is high-impact learning and drilling. The best way to cement new knowledge or skills is via accelerated learning ... specific techniques of gaining new knowledge or skills that deliver the best results in the shortest possible time.

Second Step:

Your kids need high-frequency practice and exposure. Repetition ingrains information and skills into their minds at a deeper level. Remember Naomi Osaka was made to hit thousands of balls to develop each skill.

Third Step:

Your kids need ongoing support - to keep them focused and help them overcome any obstacle that crops up when they start apply the knowledge and skills.

Last Step:

Once skills are developed, your kids gain confidence and they will develop the right mindset to be a good player. Remember that habits are tied to the subconscious mind. When they think they can play well, they will achieve it. If you do not have the mindset, you will never be a good player. If you believe it you will be encouraged to improve further and get interested in the game. Your kids may end up to be a champion if they have develop the right mindset.

Start them as early as possible and they will be a good player to enjoy the game.
