It's interesting that that's the point that caught your attention, I also made a video about this interview (to be posted soon) and there was one thing that the interviewer said that really upset me even more than the 'quality' thing... But your right, it is totally up to the whales to curate 'good' content to the trending page, and tbh they are doing that, but some of them offer voting bots and that's where the real problem lies atm but hopefully Ned will fix this issue with future updates
I agree man, these voting bots are killing things. They have some good uses but totally offset the core purpose of trending.

Without advertising Facebook would be a $0 platform. lol I do agree that whales should help do some better curation though.
Personally I think the .02 earnings threshold might be more of a problem than the trending page though and I think we all need to do a better job of supporting new users and existing users.
