Discord is a wonderful tool but it’s making Dtube looks an empty island and I’m migrating to Dtube Island
In this DtubeSnapPlus I was explaining three reasons why I decided to leave all the Discord channels.
- Dtube Engagement really Sucks and I feel that actual engagement is happening on Discord but not in Dtube.
- I want to encourage Twitter engagement and all the content that I Resteem will be shared on Twitter and this one way to attract developers and investors to make the Dtube Revolution faster
- DtubeSnapR will become the YouTube video response and please do not make anymore DtubeSnapR and this way I wanted to invite all the crypto and Blockchain related YouTube content creators to Dtube and they should be supporting decentralised social media Blockchain STEEM if they’re really care about our Crypto ecosystem
Also please remember the DtubeFamily777 guide lines..
- Create maximum one content in any given 24 hours and show respect to others
- Before you upload a new content please respond to the all the comments on previous content and at least say thank you and show your appreciation for people who’re contributing to your journey
- Please please leave minimum 7 comments per day in other dtube contents to support other’s Dtube journey

Sorry for delayed response. Been thinking about it whole day. I started using discord only when I started using Steemit. Initially we used steem.chat. But somehow, Discord is found to be used more by communities here.
No worries. Understand clearly your point. Whereby people might engaged too heavily on discord and forgot about the real platform. The comments and replies here are for a reason.
We don't rule out the possibility some users are engaging well both on Discord and here in the platform.
Some might still finding the balance. I am in many discord communities because I love to be on the look out on how is everyone doing. But I don't chat alot there due to time constraints. So I think it depends on how users use it. If they use it as dump and leave, they will get the dump and leave rewards. If they engage genuinely, they will get genuine response.
So we hope with your idea to heavily engaged here, people will start to migrate their engagement here.
On the side note, discord has been very useful to me in terms of one-to-one communication especially if it's pertaining Steem or communicating with other Steemians. Still not used to giving people my handphone number just for WhatsApp purpose. Need some time to get used to it as it will be globally circulated once I give out my handphone number.
For now, anything with Steem and Steemians, I still use Discord for DM. 😁 And some updates and announcement can be easily found in discord too rather than us searching for it post after post.
So I don't tell the world my mobile phone except with you. Because you have let us know your WhatsApp. 😁So I don't mind to chat with you there.
In my opinion, you don't need to leave all channels and still can engage heavily here on Dtube. But, it is still your decision if you find you should leave all channels too. It is our choice. And I respect and honor your choice.. :)

I'm a all or nothing person and my strength is ultra-FOCUS and so I've left all the Discord channels except Dtube.

What I would like to say is that I use discord in order to send to someone private message. Or to communicate with someone via private messages. Of cousre, now @partiko has a Messaging functionality and I will be glad if people try to us Partiko Messaging for private messages instead of Discord. I hope Partiko will be able to incentivize some of the Discord users to migrate to Partiko Messaging. Let's see what will happen.
p.s. Also, I would like to add...If many Steemians use Discord, it simply shows that Steem needs this functionality. Why we don't develop dAPP or something like Discord that will be build on the Steem blockchain. Proabably this is a question for the developers and tech geeks...

I never liked chatting on Discord. I don't know why people spend so much time there when you can chat under someone's video or something. I also got the urge to promote good content on Twitter or Facebook or something. Instead of promoting DTube/Steem by telling everyone how you can make money, just share good videos and content from there so that people go there to consume content; not create content to make money.
I'm going to change my Instagram link so that it is my steemit blog instead of my youtube channel. I will try to share good videos or blog posts on Facebook and Twitter as well instead of only my own.
We need to make DTube and Steemit a platform for people to go to in order to watch videos and read posts. If that is the case, we do not need to make 1 million videos about why DTube is great. Let people realize it for themselves when they see the content here.

We have too many FAKE dtube lovers and steem lovers.
Hope this bear market kick them out and bring new people who love creating and contributing.

Hey Nathan, I agree dtube engagment is low, easy to understand with the markets. No problem on discord brother! Lol I like your analogy for discord. We must speak soon. All the Discord stuff is also bothering me right now. Too many groups, too many people focusing on Discord growth and Not STEEM growth (I look at STEEM not just Dtube). I am 100% Steem social media. 0% outside social media, I really need to work on that. However, I have a moral problem with Establishment social media, it is very difficult for me to use it. Even tho I know I should be using it to bring people here. I just dumped a golden egg of Zmotiv on dtube last night, enjoy Brother! I wont sell my SP for less then $100

@nathanmars, Good to hear your honest opinions and your thoughts about the Discord. And in my opinion every action is an energy and for sure this energy if directed towards the Dtube Economy then for sure it will going to bring more value and more engagement.
Sharing content on other Social Media Platforms is vital and important and it's an way to attract more users and spreading the word of Steemit, Steem and Dtube.
I am not judging any content but in my opinion we should create when we get inspiration to create, if we are creating for the just for sake then in my opinion we are not doing justice to ourselves and platform.
Sometimes we have to set particular numbers to achieve some target because, if we observe, when we just think about doing multiple activities but we are just thinking then it stays unfinished no matter that particular activity is less or more in work aspect, but the difference exist when we note something and when we structure everything in numbering, in this way we can come up with better planning and execution.

There is one benefit from the #OneLoveDTube community that can only be accessed through discord, our IPFS Node so you can backup all your videos making them forever playable!
I agree we need to engage on the blockchain but I don’t believe casting off discord is the solution as many creators may benefit from the tools found through discord community. Now we do need to refrain from making discord the priority but our IPFS node is invaluable for content creators and helps keep that channel alive being able to link to previous works knowing they will still play forever!
Furthermore the curation efforts that happen through the post promotion channels, we have a small team reviewing and using the discord bot to upvote with the entire #OneLoveDTube trail.... for a newbie this is an amazing support and anyone can get their post in front of the eyes of our curators!

UNfortunateley the $10usd cost per month is quite high. IF that can be lowered it would be much more beneficial.
Don't forget beneficiary to @dtube is 8% instead of 10%, so in theory you do get higher post payouts for using my uploader.
That’s only for HD video hosting the 240 & 480 options are free we just ask you to support the project via upvoting the node update posts on @graylan preferably using Steemauto for auto votes thus we may track estimated income with the service also.

what percentages of upvote and how often? I was totally denied access until I paid the $10 and never told about the 250/480 option. Is that new?
Upvote is separate from ipfs node use but the node update posts are meant to be daily, depending on how you asked about the service they may have assumed you wished for HD hosting but no it’s not new but we are trying to push subscriptions so we can keep the service alive.... I am pretty certain anyone may access it through our discord via !ipfs480 in the bot spam channel.

@d00k13 @nathanmars have you tried uploading actual dtube videos with the uploader? How was your experience doing so?
Also @d00k13, it's time for another @onelovedtube community update that we haven't seen for a long time!
Is this the uploader that costs $10 usd per month?
For the service yes (you get access to IPFS Bot pinning commands in @onelovedtube discord server as well). But it's open source so that you can run an uploader server yourself 😉
Consider offering 7 days or 30 days trial.
Even Netflix gives us 30 day trial.

Media consumption is different then media storage.... so I had to have techcoderx purge my files as they were ridiculous high quality to make certain we have room to take on paying subscribers.

I remember going to discord to ask for help coz i cant upload my videos before and yes i put some dtube post. but now im not doing it coz i want to know if other dtubers are really enganging to all dtubers even if it is redfish or they are only riding on the big fish here in dtube.
