DTubeSnapv7 Ep.2: OneLoveDTube IPFS uploader is complete! More details coming tomorrow :)
After several weeks of planning and development, the 3rd party IPFS uploader is complete! This will be the answer of many upload issues that people have been experiencing when using their official upload servers! It will be easy to setup and use, and comes with a basic web UI that just works! More details about what we will be launching as a community coming soon as a Utopian blog post!
For those who don't know what is DTubeSnapv7: It's a fork of the original #dtubesnap, that allows for more flexibility for our workflow while keeping the "micro-vlogging" feature of the video series.
Some rules:
- Video must be still around one minute long.
- Video may be shot with any device (webcam, camcorders, DSLRs...)
- Video must be uncut.
- Video may be edited without deleting any frames in the middle.
dtubesnap
will still be included in one of the tags.
This video is uploaded using my uploader. Let's see if DTube curators can pick it up 😉

Good to see this project come to life in full! You sure put a lot of work into making this a secure and simple work around, excellent job my friend ✊
Hmm maybe I should test it with mobile for my next snap 😉

The UI is not mobile friendly (it's just the barebones). We might get a real mobile app that only upload videos 😉
Mobile app!?! That would be awesome 😎
I hate using chrome on mobile, constantly reloading the page by accident when scrolling to the top to check the upload part and it won’t work in the background which makes the whole thing lock up my phone waiting on queues 🤦♂️ ahh well the solution is just around the corner 💪

Success it was picked up by DTube curators! Mission accomplished I’d consider that support for the project 👍

Definitely we can use this video as a proof if someone asks about eligibility of @dtube curation when using the uploader 😉
This is just awsome my friend and it can help us when the official uploader is out of service for any reason. I am happy that this piece is also on github :) I will try to fork it and change some things - just to feel like a programer lol
Thanks for bringing this online dude!
Good job bro!
Your video is not playing for me.
hmmm it's playing for most people, let me investigate
Does this play for you?

This and the main video are now playing. Not sure what the problem was. All other DTube videos were playing for me.
Glitch in the matrix 😉

This video, as mentioned in the post, is uploaded using my own uploader, which uploads videos directly to the public IPFS network. They don't perform as good as DTube's clusters (but more decentralization), so they may load slower (unless you live somewhere in Kansas City, that's where our upload server is located).
DTube has its own gateway, that's why those videos played fine as the videos are served directly from DTube's servers.
If you right click on the video, copy video link address, you will get
ipfs.io
link instead ofvideo.dtube.top
that you get in all DTube videos uploaded through their servers 😉
