Ask Yourself These 3 Things! / Rules Of Minimalism | D.Vlog 69

in #dtubedaily7 years ago

If life were a canvas, then my life path would look like the abstract paint splashes that were vigorously and spontaneously thrown upon it.

I say this this in the most positive ways... but nonetheless, my life has pretty much been all over the place and I've been encouraged to accept it and adapt.

One thing that has been incredibly useful this week has been my decision to re-negotiate my morning routine.

The one I had before was no longer serving me and it really was time to reimagine what is most relevant to me now, as I'm much different than who I was just a few months (or even weeks) ago.

Through this process, I've discovered an awesome new approach to starting my day. The approach begins by asking myself a few very useful questions.

I've experimented with this process for the past three days now and I really love it!

In this vlog I share with you what those questions are, alongside a few extra tips about minimalism as the other part of myself that is emerging is my inner nomad ;-)

oh, my, watching this video reminded me of how much i missed your content!

I never ever though of approaching the day by asking questions to yourself, sounds actually quite productive!
Curiously I've heard about one year rule in regard to clothes, if you haven't wore something for a year it means you can toss it. but how in the world can you do that when all the 70's junk now seems so cool and you are sooo grateful that your mom kept it and you get to wear it now? And what if that happens with stuff I have now? Can I rob my children of this fantastic opportunity?
Jokes aside, I think rules you talk about should actually be in the guidebook of how to live on our planet earth in general, but more in reverse direction, meaning that you should be wise enough not to by junk you won't be using frequently. And this is the biggest plague of our times, everything is affordable so we keep on herding all that stuff in our closets, shelves, garages etc. I'm very guilty of that too. Oh, wow, thank you so much for this reflection, @axios. You always make me get into dialogue with my inner self. :)

It's so true. If only this shit were taught in school. IMO, it will be soon enough (and likely out of dire necessity).

This is what moms are for! (or at least to some extent haha)

Can I rob my children of this fantastic opportunity?

Hmm... this is a mother's dilemma for sure. I wonder if there are support groups for this kind of thing?

Reading this comment made me miss you Anita!

Hahahha I really like how you dissected my comedy bit of the comment! :D
I will try real hard to be more around here meaning following content I create, now that I am back to my routine I think it will be easier to do. :)

Likewise, I've been in my own little world over the past 2-3 weeks and definitely feeling the need to reconnect with more lovely peoples & content :)

DTube vids for me by default is fun to make, so lucky me. Great 90/90 and 20/20 rules. Might implement the 90/90 one.

Agreed brudda! DTube is most often my reason for fun ;-) Glad you enjoyed dem rules!

I love the concepts of the rules but just can't bring myself to do it. I'm such a pack rat.

Heard that @to7. It really is a lifestyle choice in the end. I mean, I never really operated this way until I considered traveling so... I feel you for sure.
