Day 5 of 23 Days of Green Action Advocacy Campaign | Say NO to single-use disposable plates, spoons, cups, etc

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

Today we talk about disposable cups, plates, spoons etc VS Reusable Plates. It is eminent that every home or family or community at some point in time must have a happy or sad event that requires people to eat and one big challenge everyone faces is having enough plates, cups, spoons, etc to entertain their guests or family during an event.
Whenever an event comes up, the first thing people think about is buying the disposables which later on constitute a very big problem during clean-up and a bigger problem for our environment.
For the immediate short term, disposable items are cheap but constitute a big menace to you and your environment after use. For the long term, disposable items are expensive and cause a very very big environmental problem for you and the planet. Reusable items on the other hand are expensive immediately we want to buy them but once bought, you save a whole lot of money for future events and save a lot of trash from getting into the environment.

So what can we do to conveniently purchase reusable items for events for ourselves, our families and our communities?

We should put our financial resources together as a family or community and then buy reusable items that we can always use whenever we have an event.
