The Steem Sister Show - Episode 122 // Personal Branding
Welcome to the Steem Sister Show!
Your hosts are @coruscate and @maryjaney - two sisters bringing fun content to the Steem blockchain.
Topic of this Episode – Personal Branding (Part One)
This week we are chatting all about personal branding! Now you lifer’s out there might be thinking… wasn’t this topic covered once before? Yes! Over a year ago we talked about personal branding in Episode 32, and we thought it would be fun to bring the topic back around because we have both learned so much in the last year.
We even re-created the original cover art for that episode! Check it out:
Here are the questions we covered in part one, and be sure to come back in a few days to check out part two.
- What are the best platforms to grow a brand?
- In a world of everyone and their cat (literally how man cat Instagram accounts are there?) wanting to be an “influencer”, how can someone stand out?
- What are some examples of people that are on social media that really stand out to you? Why do they?
- What does personal branding mean to you?
What is the Steem Sister Show All About?
We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@coruscate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.
We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!
How Does It Work?
We pick a different theme every week, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.
Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.
Want to win some Steem??
If we chose to answer your question in the next show… we will send you 2 Steem!
The Next Topic: Morning Routines
Can you believe we’ve never chatted about this before? Once we did a “day in the life” episode where we briefly touched on this… and so we felt it was a topic that deserved it’s own time in the sun.
This theme was inspired by the fact that I just starting reading a book called the Miracle Morning – which has sold millions of copies and has people all over the world raving that it has changed their life. By the time we film these episodes next week, I’ll have finished reading the book and had some time to try out some of the morning rituals recommended. We should have lots of fun stuff to talk about and would love to get your questions!
So send us your questions on "Morning Routines". If we choose your question - we'll send you 2 steem.
That’s a Wrap!
We really hope you guys enjoyed this episode on Personal Branding and will come back for the rest of the conversation in a few days when we publish part two. We'd love to hear your thoughts on anything we discussed in the episode in the comments below! Love you guys.

I think personal branding has become such a bastardised term and everyone wtih 2000 followers on a platform thinks they're a brand now. The attention economy has us focused on the wrong part of branding which is the monetising it and being as appealing as possible
I think personal branding should fall within more of a thought leader focus where you simply pick something you like an enjoy and explore that honestly and have an audience find you and resonate with the way you really are, not what you want to manufacture as who you are.
YouTube used to be like that in the early days but it's hard to find those accounts now, they've all been drowned out by clickbaiters and template style accounts and reaction video peeps.
Personal branding to me, is finding someone who is their authentic self which is hard because how many people want to be honest online? they would rather use it as a way to reinvent themselves
