the incentive to get paid directly in crypto is just overwhelming. unless the giants introduce their own versions of it (which i'm quite worried about) it's bound to grow.
YES! Overwhelming is the right word... that is how I am feeling at the moment. Do you really think Youtube could/would rollout a crypto-rewards program? I don't see it happening in 2018, but it would be interesting if they did.
i dunno.. but google and fb are so big they can crush dtube if they wanted to. either one of them could simply buy it. or nothing's gonna stop them if they copy the model and bring it to their millions of active users. if one could just get 0.00001 bitcoin or other crypto for a like on their platform i think it's gameover for steem. there's also rumors on amazon moving into crypto space. i dunno why they're not doing it yet. maybe it's too early. for now i'll just enjoy steemit and dtube.
Damn, that's a scary thought... you're completely right, if any of those giants mock the steemit model, it's a wrap! Which would suck to be quite honest, because I'm sure they'd find a way to make it crappy and difficult to be heard.
they've been crushing everybody else even snapchat now. you just never know what's gonna happen in the future. but like you i hope this platform would continue and grow and really be the next big thing. i love the freshness and all the new people.
Not sure about that. They are so big that the authorities will require some sort of cencorship and control.
So excited to see what happens hopefully in a positive way
