Cost of living is only going up if someone lives at expensive place. What you completely miss is Crypto market going up and that by holding Steem Power you get 30% extra per year in return.
I will be happy if Steem goes up 30 percent a tear or more. I live in Africa and inflation is killing the economy.
STEEM will easily go up PAST 30%

Yes inflation is killing a lot of places. Including the slow taxes which completely slows down innovation. But now we have the technology to do things in much more frictionless ways.
