Is this bossa nova’s most covered song? Probably… Jorge Ben Jor’s original song “Mas que Nada”, released in 1963, was voted by the Brazilian edition of Rolling Stone as the 5th greatest Brazilian song.
Since then, many artists did their version of this song. Sérgio Mende’s version is the most sucesseful one, reaching no.47 on the Billboard pop chart in the United States in 1966.
He re-recorded the song in 2006, featuring The Black Eyed Peas, having massive worlwide sucess.
