My first DTube-experience: a massive failure
Hi guys,
as so many I am desperately waiting for an alternative to Utube. So I instantly tried Dtube for two days now, but it did not work. Maybe you have sone advice. Some points for discussion:
What surprised me and what I liked very much: I can instantly see my video and take a snapshot. But how is this possible? Why do they have the data, but it can not be uploaded?
What I am really missing is an estimation of the remaining time.
For two days now I am trying to upload a 15 minutes Video. I am sure the reason is my bad internet connection. But even with the exact same bad connection (1 MB upload, 1 MB download) I do not have any problems on Youtube. The same video took about 1 hour. Since it took so long on Dtube, after about 2,5 hours I fall asleep. When I woke up, I saw the upload did not succeed.
I know others have no problems. But to get a killer-application it must work in every environment.
I couldn´t open the site in Safari, only on Firefox. Firefox on Mac gets very hot very fast (advice to that? I already disabled the mode of automatically starting videos)
I am really desperate looking for alternatives, but I am not a technical guy. Solutions must be simple. I was once again banned from Facebook yesterday, for posting a cartoon months ago. So I can not reach my 50k Followers.
I love the concept of steemit and I promoted it, but I am really disappointed that after months steemit still does not have the simplest features, which Facebook has. I know things take time. But time is running out because the cabale is pushing harder then ever. Friends of mine are already thrown in jail in Germany for expressing their opinion.
It´s horrible, we are heading to a full spectrum dictatorship in Germany and I am constantly fighting technical problems instead of the enemy.
And by the way. I do not have any of these problems on any other video platform. I am on every fucking platform because I am so desperate. All the others platforms work technically. But I am sure it has to be a Blockchain based solution because of the inherent evilness of government.
Really cool that you saw dtube
video... yeah.. it is lagging and very beta. Did you check alpha.view.ly? That is the other video project which uses Steemit and a torrent video hosting solution... I saw a Full HD video there on view.ly without hickups... I did not try to upload a video on neither of those platforms though... I leave this to the professionals like you who really need a stable and trustworthy decentralized video platform.
You have to give this some time though... you are here on the bleeding edge of technology ... The stable release of IPFS (InterPlanetaryFileSystem) which is used in dtube.video is already 43 days old and in version 0.4.... I am quite convinced that soon they will iron out many problems...
Thx for info. But honestly I do not have the time to check every new project. I do not know anymore where to work next. I am a writer. I want to write and not spending my whole life in search for an alternative. Anyways, we will see.
I know what you mean... but rest assured these problems will be fixed in the near future.
This is also a chicken-egg situation. These new social media sites need interesting articles and authors like yourself in order to have people sign up. But you want to have an audience to speak to as well... so we have to break somehow out of this.
For you here there are many advantages.
Jeff Berwick even thougg he writes in english gets around a 1000 usd almost on a daily basis... you could post your articles in english and german as two separate posts...
With the english version of your books you will become famous in the english speaking world anyhow very soon! :)
Even though I have the same problems, be patient. Steemit did not even hit the 1 Million registered user yet. (source www.steemstory.com)
More and more influencer (like @pressfortruth ) are migrating and bringing traffic/ demand in Steem token. In 2017 more people will own Bitcoin and know how to easily trade Steem and Steem Dollar.

Der Entwickler @heimindanger hat Dtube in einer ersten beta-Version aktiviert. Vielleicht nimmst du über den steemit-chat dirket mit ihm Kontakt auf.
Wir sollten alle geduldig sein. Steemit wird die beste Plattform für die "Gegenbewegung".

You should try out BitChute (https://www.bitchute.com), too. Based on torrent technology and also decentralized. Good to have a foot in all promising alternatives and not betting on one monopoly solution.
