How To Make Keema Aloo Recipe
Lamb keema curry is a delicious and classic Indian recipe made with minced lamb and potatoes. With this mutton keema recipe you will be able to make an authentic aloo keema matar curry. These Indian spices are easy to find and make this keema aloo recipe filled with flavour. Lamb keema aloo is usually served with plain naan, but it is also perfect with basmati rice.
Ingredients:
500g Lamb Mince
2 Potatoes
1 Onion
2 Tomatoes
1 tsp Ginger Paste
1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Garlic Paste
1 tsp Garam Masala
1 tsp Chilli Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
1 tsp Salt
50ml Olive Oil
100ml water
Method:
- In a pan, heat up oil
- Add the diced onions and cook for 5 minutes until onions are softened
- Add the cumin seeds, garlic paste and ginger paste
- Cook for a few minutes
- Add the lamb mince and cook for 15 minutes on medium heat ensuring that you stir every so often
- Add chopped tomatoes, garam masala, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt
- Cook spices for 10 minutes on medium heat
- Peel and chop the potatoes into bite-sized chunks and then add water
- Cook for 20 minutes on low heat until the potatoes are tender – if using fresh peas add with the potatoes
- Add frozen peas and cook for a further 5 minutes – frozen peas are already cooked so do not need to be cooked for too long
- Add sliced chillies (optional) and garnish with chopped coriander and then cook for a further two minutes
- Serve immediately and enjoy with homemade garlic naan or chapattis!
