The new Cat 994K is Caterpillar's largest wheel loader and provides a superior payload compared to its predecessor, the 994H. As a result, you need fewer passes to load large mining dumpers, in addition to providing a higher rate of productivity and reducing the cost per unit of material handled. The standard 994K model transports 45 metric tons (40.8 tons) per pass, while the high lift version moves 42 metric tons (38.1 tons) per pass; 18% and 20% more, respectively, than the previous models.

The 994K loads dumpers for mining of 250, 200 and 150 short tons in one pass less than the previous model. The high lift configuration loads the popular Cat 793 Mining Dumper in six passes. Both versions (standard and high lift) load the Cat 789 in five passes. The standard configuration loads the Cat 785 in four passes. Increased engine power, increased hydraulic flow, increased traction and traction force and improved lateral stability all contribute to increased productivity.
