RE: DTube - China Seeks To BAN The Conventional Car In Favor Of The Electric Car

in #dtube7 years ago

Hey

I live in China and I was gonna say almost everything runs on electricity already.
Most people use portable electric batteries that they can power up at home for their little scooters, motor bikes and little electric trucks and cars.

The irony is that they have to burn coal (the dirtiest of all the fossil fuels) to create all this electricity!

I think it makes sense when we understand the petro-dollar and the way that OPEC and the Big Oil companies work.

China hates being dependent on imports of foreign energy because it puts China in a very vulnerable position should a military confrontation happen between it and another major power in the world.

China works a bit like a hive-mind so anything that weakens the position of the government is seen as very destabilizing for the country as a whole...

That's probably why the government wants to ban diesel and oil cars...

First of all, China is an importer of these...
But China could soon be the world leader in electronic motor vehicles... They've certainly invested a mini fortune into this dream...

I think it's not a bad idea for China to ban BMW/Mercedes and start promoting it's own national car companies making ecological cars.

It wouldn't make sense for the rest of the world but for China it's a special case (for historical reasons as well as demographic ones...)

Thanks for the post though, it got me thinking :)
