Veil 02B wallet zerocoin spending and reminting and behind the scenes
Veil is a strong privacy cryptocurrency that was launched at the beginning of January 2019, incorporating Proof of Work mining as well as staking, and combined privacy technologies including RingCT and zerocoins, and is the first currency requiring zerocoins for staking, which is a strong privacy feature, because addresses are not involved in zerocoin staking.
I needed to get this footage uploaded before the next video with the preview of the imminent zerocoin precomputing Veil wallet as this one was done on version 1.0.1.5.
The main change noticeable between the version in this video and the current 1.0.2.0 version is that basecoin, when minted now sends all the change to Confidential Transactions (CT), the stealth address. Currently this has the side-effect, as autominting is not (yet) working on the CT balance, that now autominting only works once! There will be fix on the way for that.
On some of the non-computing footage I included this time, were views from here, and a trip to Medellin. The real reason for a trip to Medellin is (for the wife) to see the many Christmas lights in the streets. The legacy of Pablo Escobar is a sad history that the city is overcoming, of a criminal organisation that is responsible for many thousands of deaths.
