A blockchain without users is useless. So rewarding users for creating content was a brilliant idea. It has attracted many users, myself included, to the platform. (Just a reminder for new users. Rewards are tokens created out of thin air. It is not costing anyone anything!)
But the Steemit.com site is limited. It's perfectly suited for blogging. But social media is so much more.
The Hardfork that made it possible to monetize development I now believe was the most important one too date.
It has changed the Steem Blockchain from a blogging platform to a social media experience that is building itself by its own users.
Just look at the development: All these (except Zappl) are already functioning.

Just to name a few, and now we have Dtube.
All these apps are completely free to use. A percentage of the rewards generated by these apps go to the creators. Which I think is 100% fair. Again it's not costing anyone anything!
I'm pretty convinced that none of the creators were asked to build these applications. But they build them. And remember the Steem Blockchain is not even 1.5 years old!
All this development gives the Steem blockchain more value and it's only growing.
It's the most incredible mind-boggling thing on the internet for me today.
In the future, I'm convinced new users will even use these apps without ever setting foot on the steemit.com website. They might not even know they are on a blockchain.

Thanks for uploading it to youtube @exyle. It's fine if you upload it in a low quality so you can get it up quickly rather than wasting your time putting it on dtube and youtube. My terrible internet cannot handle dtube it looks like but I guess I'll just have to wait until they create the feature to change the quality of a video.
Well I guess you are at work now. I hope you have a great time and it isn't as bad as the last few days and you don't have problems like the ones you had with the scanner and with it not being compatible with the medical software.
I think that people should get into dtube. As steem grows and we gain millions of users people will intern start finding out about it while they browse steemit and many people will migrate to it from youtube
It is amazing to see how many tools have been built on top of the steemit blockchain. I can't wait to see what Zappl will be like. It will only get better and better as time goes on and I'm glad I could be a part of this journey early on.
It is astonishing how all of this is free for users but they can also monetise it without the consumer losing much.
It is the best to wait and be patient with steemit. Despite the fact it may be bad I want steem to stay low for now so I can keep accumulating more and more before it starts blowing up in the next year or so when the platform gains more and more users and there is more demand for steem power.
Great video. I have come to all these same conclusions myself.
So it's good to see the reinforcement and grounded view from yourself as well.
The views you assemble here, seem obvious to me; but it takes understanding how the pieces fit together, and it is currently beyond the scope of most users to understand and have time to do all this research themselves.
I think that DTube is definitely a game changer. It gives users an alternative to using YouTube for hosting videos which is great. I believe that all the apps coming out for Steemit will end up strengthening the platform and ultimately increasing the price of Steem.

My trouble with Dtube was my iPad device. It works on my desk computer.

Could not have agreed more with you on this @exyle. Steemit has given a solid foundation to itself and all its peripheral applications. I am upbeat and buckled up for the rocket named steemit to take off.

Like you mention, the value of Steem (both the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and as a social media site) will continue to grow, and I definitely believe more apps like these will be developed in the future.

Very true, we may see many more Apps being build to consume by Steem Blockchain.. Future looks very exciting for Blockchain, which is just not a technology, but a cultural paradigm shift.
its good the dtube with steemit but i think videos are with huge size so reduce the size of video to play easily @exyle sir
